Travel kit - TODOs before, on and after the flight

Travel prep essentials:

  • Backpack and suitcase (huge fan of Samsonite’s three-point locking system rather then the zippers that can be easily broken in with a pen regardless of the lock you add on it)

  • Packing cubes - I’ve been using Amazon basics for years. Keep it simple, take it from me - all the packing cubes are pretty much the same. The only difference is in the price, the quality is more or less the same for most of them

  • Liquids bag and Toiletry Bag Kit Set

  • Makeup mirror with lights

  • Medicine bag or mini first aid kit such as First Aid Trauma Kit which is ready to buy or you can create your own in a solid ziplock bag and add all the plasters and tummy pills, flu and fever fills, shoe plasters and anything else that you might need

  • As for mini bottles and containers for shampoo and other liquids I’m not recommending any of them as they all leak. Just get a mini version of your product and duck tape the hell out of it, and then throw it into a ziplock bag

  • Breathable shoe bags

  • Travel uniform: Jacket that’s water and wind repellant, that keeps you warm, leggings or joggers, simple T-shirt such as the ones from DailyDrop with a low impact bra underneath . Comfy shoes that are breathable and not too tight in order to help with blood circulation. I’d love to recommend a pair of amazing compression socks but unfortunately I didn’t find one that would actually work on long international flights so far.
If you know of any please DM us asap :)

Once landed beware of the jet lag:

  • Hydrate - cannot stress this enough. Flying especially for long distances really dehydrates you which contributes even more to the fatigue.

  • Workout - doesn’t need to be a HIT training, but more of a Mobility/yoga class, 30 min cycle or running

  • Walking around can do wonders

  • Stay awake on the new timezone - coffee is my best friend during those times. Ice cream helps sometimes too especially if you’re transitioning from a cold climate to a +20 degrees Celcius / +68 degrees Farenheit

  • Small food portions - eat often but don’t ask for your body to put in extra work for large meals when it’s already struggling to keep up

  • Apply sunscreen if needed Neutrogena SPF 70 Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch

  • Eye patches before going to sleep for 15 min to have hydrated and refreshed eyes the next day

  • Hydrating face mask to plump up the skin after a long flight

  • Overnight pimple patch as sometimes on long flights because of the dry recycled air you can experience some annoying breakouts

On the flight you’ll need:

  • O.R.S hydration tablets lemon flavoured in your water bottle can save you on an international flight

  • Eyedrops or if you’re in the US you can find them over on Amazon (same product just different package as per region)

  • Steam eye mask: if you’re in US Zeiss warm eye masks are a great find, if you’re abroad you can find pretty much anywhere the Jet Setter Steam Eye Mask, but if you have a Koren beauty shop around you or you find yourself around Seoul, South Korea then Steambase daily eye masks are the way to go (I usually get the unscented ones as my eyes are quite sensitive and they don’t tolerate fragrance).

  • Lip balm

  • Hand cream

  • Simple hair brush or Emirates business class dupe hair brush

  • Cables and organiser - I have an older version of the Bagsmart which works wonders as it can fit your lip balm, phone cables, SD cards, passport, airpods, eyedrops, hydration tables and tissues/wipes.
It fits a lot more than you think

  • Entertainment is sometimes limited so I do recommend a small kindle or hardcover book. If you’re looking for a good thriller I’d recommend The Sun Down Motel by Simone St James

  • Headphones Sony or Apple AirPods either for the in-flight entertainment system or just to black any noise while you’re sleeping

  • Wipes and travel size tissues

  • Germs-free flight with Dettol Hand and Surface Sanitiser for hands, toilet and seat disinfectant

  • Neck pillow

  • Dark sunglasses are usually perfect when you have sensitive eyes. They can prevent the light from irritating your eyes and also provide a great transition from watching a movie to sleeping :)

  • Bottle of water - purchased or filled after security. I’d recommend the Hydro Flask , not the Stanley cup - that’s right I said it! Hydro Flask didn’t sponsor us, but we tested it in the desert Valley of Kings and Queens, Luxor in Egypt summer time and it held the water cold and fresh up to 7 hours a day. Highly recommend it!
